Shoeburyness and Thorpe Bay Baptist Church - Parish Nursing Community Activities
The Shoeburyness and Thorpe Bay Baptist Church - Parish Nurse provides support for the physical, mental and social health of the Southend-on-sea community. This is achieved through health and community activities including: Blood pressure checks, health advice, Keep fit, Saturday Club for Seniors, Renew Wellbeing Cafe and a local singing group for those with Dementia. These activities are free or low-cost and all are welcome.

Our health and community activities include:
- Singing Group for those with dementia: Wednesdays 3-4pm during TERM TIME for those living with dementia plus carers. Free
- Saturday Club: Every Saturday 10am - 11.45am. Refreshments and entertainment. Cost £1 for the elderly
- Renew Wellbeing: Every Wednesday Midday - 2pm for those socially isolated, anxious, depressed. A social club with a light lunch. Free.
- Carers Sessions: The 3rd Friday of the month 10am - 12 midday. For carers and the person they care for. Activities are available for the person they bring and information from the Carers Intensive Support Team (NHS) for the carers. Free.
- Keep Fit: Every Friday 11am - 11.45am EXCEPT THE THIRD FRIDAY. Seated and standing. In collaboration with Active Life. Refreshments afterwards. Cost £4 not available during the summer holidays.
- Afternoon Teas for those living with dementia with entertainment: Twice a year at Easter and Christmas. Contact me for details of the next one and to book. Donations on the day are welcome.
- Information and Pamper Session for those living with dementia and their carers. A pamper session with the Adult Learning College plus information stalls on dementia. 22nd July 2026 2-4pm.
